Mansfield Legacy HS OL Rees Odhiambo (Mansfield, TX) took his official visit to Boise State last month as he watched the Broncos defeat the Beavers on The Blue. Odhiambo is one of the more intriguing commits in the 2011 class since he only started playing football a couple years ago. What did he think of the visit to Boise State? "It was great. I took my uncle and he seemed to really enjoy it too," he said. "I had never seen an atmosphere like that before. It was just amazing to see. I loved hearing the Boise...State chant too," he added.

The future Bronco is a native of Africa, but considers himself a Texan. His HS coach walked up and asked him if he was interested in playing football just a couple years ago. As they say, the rest is history. "It's overwhelming," he said in regards to his commitment to Boise State. "I feel blessed and I thank God for that. It's something that doesn't happen to most people."

In 2009, Odhiambo (6'4, 298) and his teammates finished the season with a 7-3 record. The 2010 season has been a struggle so far. Mansfield Legacy is currently 1-7 and just can't get into a rhythm on offense. "The defense has been performing well," he stated. "The offense just hasn't performed well. We just haven't been able to score like we did last year."

Rees is an excellent student in the classroom as well. He currently has all A's and B's. He plans to major in chemistry at Boise State.

BroncoCountry.com will continue to have updates on Rees Odhiambo.
