Kelowna Secondary School ATH Taylor Loffler (Kelowna, BC) committed to Boise State back in June and finished his senior season in spectacular fashion as he was named the British Columbia AAA Player of the Year. Boise State has had lots of success in recent years recruiting The Great White North and it appears they have snagged yet another talented prospect from north of the border. "I knew I was going to commit if Boise State offered me," he said. "I think I decided like a day after I got the offer," he added.

Taylor (6'4, 200, 4.59) knew he would have to prove himself by attending as many camps as possible over the summer. Obviously, the level of competition in the United States is much higher and getting noticed by college coaches can be quite difficult. "I went to five camps. That's how it happened," he stated. "Boise State was the first camp I went to and they told me to give them a call when I got home. I did and that's when Coach Petersen offered me."

The talented ATH was a man among boys in terms of the numbers he put up as a senior. On defense, he had 88 tackles and 4 INTs. On offense, he had 2,500 yards passing, 800 yards rushing, and 43 TDs. So, what position will he play at Boise State? "They like me at safety. I'd say safety is my best position," Loffler said. "I can read the play pretty good. Being a QB, you understand how they think on defense."

Kelowna finished the 2010 season with a record of 9-2. They lost in the quarterfinals, but it was the best season in school history. So, what's next for Loffler? "We had a very successful season," he said. "I have basketball season right now and I'll be getting a personal trainer after basketball so I can stay in-shape for football," he added.
