Coach Leon Rice has Boise State playing its best basketball of the season, putting a modest four-game winning streak together with a 70-56 WAC win over Fresno State last night in Fresno.
La'Shard Anderson was spectacular for Boise State with 33 points, nine shy of the school record. Anderson, who torched San Jose State for 31 last week, was 11-14 on the night. Anderson moved into second place on the all-time steals list at Boise State.
Kevin Olekaibe led Fresno State with 23 points.
With the win, the Broncos advanced to 16-11 overall and 8-6 in the WAC. With Idaho's win over Nevada, Boise State and Idaho are tied for third in the conference but should they remain that way, the Broncos would get the tie-breaker because of two wins over the Vandals.
Boise State takes on that same Nevada team Saturday night.
