Bellevue HS OL Marcus Henry (Bellevue, WA) signed with Boise State as a member of the 2011 recruiting class as the Broncos won a head-to-head battle with the hometown Washington Huskies. Right now, the future Bronco is preparing for summer workouts and is focusing his efforts on improving both speed and agility.

"The workouts are going great. I already feel a lot stronger," he said. "I usually workout for an hour and a half to two hours a day. I think I've become a lot more explosive," he added.

"I actually just got off the phone with Coach Gregory," he stated. "We just talked about the upcoming spring game and how everything is going with my family."

The talented O-lineman will be in Boise for the spring game on April 16th. This will mark the first time that Henry has experienced a "game-like" atmosphere at Bronco Stadium.

"I'll be in Boise for the spring game," he said. "I've seen them practice twice, but I've never really seen them scrimmage or anything. This will be something new for me."

Looking back, the recruiting process went smoothly for Henry up until the last month. He had been verbally committed to Boise State since the summer and was all set to sign his LOI on February 2nd. An offer from the hometown Huskies came along and the recruiting process suddenly became a whirlwind of emotions.

"Well, I'd say the recruiting process was really fun," Henry said. "I was wondering what I should do in those last two weeks when UW came in at the end. Things sort of got a little crazy after that. Honestly, I'm glad it's over now."

What put Boise State over the top?

"What got me was how their players are real tight like Bellevue's," he said. "They also have a fast tempo, high energy coaches, and the staff is just amazing as a whole. I really can't say enough about them. They get the most out of their talent."

Marcus Henry (6'3, 282) will arrive in Boise on June 26th.

"I'm really excited, but it's going to be different too," he said. "It's going to be fun to get away for college and kind of be independent," he added.
