Pearland LB Is Still Wide Open
Pearland HS LB Kendall Ehrlich (Pearland, TX) picked up his first offer back in February as Boise State became the first school to extend an offer to the talented LB. He has picked up four more since that time and a few other schools could be close to offering as well. "I've got offers from UH, Boise State, Iowa State, Tulane, and Nevada," he said. "A&M, Arkansas, and Missouri are probably the three schools that haven't offered that are showing the most interest," he added. "I'm still pretty much wide open right now," he stated. "I'm just enjoying the process and taking it as it comes." "They talk to me more than any other school," he said in regards to Boise State. "Coach Choate came by practice last week and I Facebook with him quite a bit. The same goes for Coach Gregory." Ehrlich says he'll commit sometime during the summer "if it feels right" but will take a couple official visits if he hasn't committed by the start of his senior season. "I'll commit during the summer if it feels right and I've found the perfect school," said Ehrlich. "If not, I'll just wait, take my time, and take a few official visits." The Pearland Oilers were 5A State Champions in 2010 as they finished the season with a perfect 16-0 record. Well, that's all in the past now as Kendall and his teammates have hit the practice field for spring ball as they look to defend their title in 2011. "Our defense looks real good so far," he said. "We've got eight starters on defense coming back, but not as many on offense. I think the offense will step up a bit, but the defense might have to carry us this year. We've got to be ready to go from game one." Ehrlich (6'1, 200, 4.5) says he'll step into a leadership role this season and embrace it. "Well, I was a leader last year, but not nearly as much as our seniors," he said. "This year it's me and one other guy. I'm not really vocal, but I do lead by example." As a junior, Ehrlich had 160 tackles, 5 sacks, and 3 forced fumbles. BroncoCountry.com will continue to have updates on Kendall Ehrlich.
