Leland HS ATH Christopher Santini (San Jose, CA) verbally committed to Boise State back in August and was in Boise last weekend for his official visit. The Broncos came up just short against TCU in a thrilling game, but Santini enjoyed seeing his future teammates in action.

"I thought it was really cool," he said. "I got to see a lot, talk to the team, and go over some position things with Coach Gregory," he added.

"Coach Gregory went over what I'd be doing," he stated. "He showed me the basics, the depth chart, and it looks like I'll move from Nickel to Willie. He said there will be some early playing time at Willie and told me not to expect to sit-out until my sophomore year. I was happy to hear that."

"I thought Coach Gregory knew exactly what he was talking about," said Santini. "He'll make me a better player and that's what I want."

Following the game, the future Bronco and his dad had dinner with the coaching staff.

"Most of my one-on-one time with Coach Pete came at dinner," he said. "At dinner, he was just asking me about my season, how I was doing, and normal talk like that. It was good to sit down and talk to him for a bit."

His favorite part of the visit?

"Definitely being around the players," he said. "The atmosphere wasn't like a drill sergeant or anything like that. It was fun. It wasn't a bunch of do this, do that, or anything. It was exactly what I was expecting."

"I'm 100% committed."

Santini (6'1, 217) also met a future teammate in Nick Patti.

"We were around each other a good bit," said Santini. "Nick seems like a good person to me. He seems smart, pretty focused, just everything a QB should be."

On Friday, Santini was back in action for the first time since his accident last month. He says he was "hesitant" in the first half, but stepped up big-time in the second half.

"We won 28-13 or something like that," he said. "I was a bit hesitant in the first half since I wasn't sure what my head could handle, but I really started playing in the second half. Now we've got the playoffs coming up this week. We'll play Palo Alto, they won state last year. We should be solid if we can stop their RB and WRs."

"Winning games like this is what you want to do your senior year," he said. "It's definitely amazing," he added.
