Dr. Phillips HS QB Nick Patti (Orlando, FL) will enroll at Boise State this semester, but competed in the Semper Fi All-American Bowl just a few days ago. The prestigious all-star game saw the best from the East battle the West and the competition on the field was fierce. So, what are his thoughts on the experience?

"It was an awesome experience," he said. "It made for a really enjoyable week, met a lot of cool guys. It was football, but at the same time it was an experience."

"I threw a TD pass," he said. "I think I ran for 30 yards or so," he added.

"I think the part I enjoyed the most, Elite 11 too, was definitely the people," said Patti. "The guys I met, networking, contacts, and that stuff because it's my personality. The people I met were awesome guys. Some were from Canada, Africa, all over the place. It was great."

In other news, recent reports have stated that current Offensive Coordinator Brent Pease has spoken to both Florida and Alabama about their vacant OC position. Patti says he has spoken to them, but a decision hasn't been made yet.

"Yeah, I spoke to Coach Pete about it earlier," he said. "He told me Coach Pease hasn't made a decision yet and that he could still return for next year. It's not a sure thing at all. They went through a similar thing like this with (Bryan) Harsin last year. Coach Pete will be there and it's his offense, so that's the big thing for me. I know Coach Pease will do what's best for him."

"Coach Pete is excited," he stated. "He's excited to get me there for sure."

Nick Patti will arrive in Boise and hit the ground running in just a week.

"I'm actually packed and ready to go," he said. "I told Coach Pete I'll be in Boise next Saturday. It's a bitter sweet thing, leaving my family will be tough, but I'm excited to get there."

"I'm just going to dive in head-first," said Patti. "I'm going to workout with the guys, do whatever I need to do. That's just the nature about me, never slack, and take it as it comes."

Patti says he'll major in marketing, but like a certain Bronco QB that just graduated, his dream is to coach football.

"I'm going to major in marketing," he said. "I want to coach. That's what I want to do, get into coaching. My passion is football, teaching, stuff like that."

BroncoCountry.com will continue to have updates on Nick Patti.
