Summit HS CB Donte Deayon (Fontana, CA) received a visit from his future Head Coach on Thursday afternoon as Chris Petersen dropped by for an in-home visit and brought (RBs Coach) Keith Bhonapha along with him. How did the visit go? When will a new DB Coach be named?

"Coach Petersen and Coach Bhonapha came by on Thursday," he said. "They got here at around 1 pm that afternoon and were here for a couple hours," he added.

"It was really exciting. It was a great experience for me and my mom as well," he said. "She cooked and we sat down, ate, and then went over the presentation that Coach Petersen had for my mom. He showed her what Boise State is all about, not just football, but academics and stuff like that too."

"He said they're still doing interviews for the new coach and are looking for the right fit," said Deayon. "He wants a guy that will fit the Boise State system, is one of them, and already has that mind-set coming in. We should know who it is within the next week or so."

Former DBs Coach Marcel Yates also gave Deayon a call and told him Boise State is still the right place for him.

"Coach Yates told me he thinks I should still go to Boise State," he stated. "He said it's a great place and that any other schools that might try to recruit me will see me only as a backup plan. He thinks Boise State is the best place for me. It was great to hear all of that from him."

"I'm 100% committed."

Deayon will arrive in Boise in late June and participate in the summer bridge program.

"Yeah, I will participate in the summer bridge program," he said. "I think it'll help since we'll become more familiar with everything and we all know it's going to be lots of hard work," he added.

Signing Day is just around the corner and the future Bronco says he's eager to sign on the dotted line.

"I'm real excited to sign that letter of intent," he said. "On February 1st, we'll have a get together at school...a signing party at lunch. The next day we'll have a media day and take a bunch of pictures. That's going to be really nice."

BroncoCountry.com will continue to have updates on Donte Deayon.
