Elite 2013 Lineman Talks Recruiting
West Linn HS OL Evan Voeller (West Linn, OR) is projected to be one of the top prospects in the State of Oregon for the 2013 class and has already reeled in four offers with a number of other schools showing strong interest. Boise State became the latest school to put an offer on the table just a couple weeks ago and the talented O-lineman says he'd like to visit the school sometime this spring. "Coach Gregory offered me," he said. "He went up to my school, spoke to my coach, and then my coach passed along a note to me asking for me to call him. I did later that night and that's when he offered." "I went up to the Jason Gesser Camp as a freshman and apparently Coach Gregory remembered me," he said. "I think that's when he first noticed me," he added. "Honestly, I don't know a lot about them right now, but I'd like to learn more," he said in regards to Boise State. "They're one of the schools I'd like to visit this spring." Voeller also has offers from Washington, UCLA and Purdue with Oregon, Cal, Stanford, and Michigan showing a lot of interest of late. Still, he says he's wide open and plans on taking a few unofficial visits this spring. "I've already visited Oregon and Washington quite a bit," he stated. "I'm going to try to visit Boise State and the California schools sometime this spring." "I'm definitely looking for a school where I can get a good degree," said Voeller. "I'm looking for good football and a school that can help me get to the next level, but a good degree is important too." He went on to say that he'd like to make a verbal commitment before his senior season. "I'm definitely looking for a place that I feel comfortable, but I would like to do it before my senior season." In 2011, he and his teammates finished the season with a 7-3 record. They lose quite a bit on defense going into next season, but Voeller will anchor a solid O-line for West Linn. "We lost in the first round of the playoffs. That was disappointing," he said. "I think nearly everyone on our defense this year was a senior, so I'm hoping we can just go as far as we can in the playoffs. We should still have a pretty good team." "I feel I improved a lot this past season," he said. "I felt a lot more athletic and I got out to the LBs much easier." What does Evan Voeller (6'4, 280) bring to the gridiron? "I have good size," he said. "Schools like that I have a big frame and good technique," he added. BroncoCountry.com will continue to have updates on Evan Voeller.
