Official Visit Report: Trevor Walker
"It was a really great place," he said. "I really like Boise State, Coach Petersen, and how hard he's been recruiting me for the past few months. Boise State felt like a place that wasn't just about football, but about life as well. They just aren't recruiting me to come play ball. They want me to be a successful person as well."
"That was the first college game I've ever been to," he stated. "The game-day atmosphere was great. Each section had a different color, it was really loud, and just seemed like a great environment to play in."
"The one thing I noticed about Boise State's defense, offense, and special teams was discipline," said Walker. "There were no dumb blown coverages or missed tackles on defense. Everyone knew what they were doing and looked real crisp."
Walker sat down with Head Coach Chris Petersen on Sunday and says they talked about everything but football.
"It was about everything but football," he said. "He's definitely the type of coach I'd like to play for since he cares about you as a person. He talked about being a great person on and off the field, discipline, and being successful in life. That's the type of person he recruits at Boise State. I don't want to go to a school where I can't talk to my coach about life. I want to be able to go to him and talk to him about personal problems and Coach Petersen seems like that type of coach."
Walker will take a few more visits, but says Boise State continues to recruit him very hard.
"They've been recruiting me really hard," he said. "I still want to take a few more visits, Harvard, an unofficial to Oklahoma State, maybe a couple others. Boise State is going to be right there. I'm not going to name a leader but they are definitely one of my top schools."
He went on to say that the Bronco coaching staff likes his versatility on the field and how he can play any position in the defensive secondary.
"Boise State and other coaching staffs like how I can play any position in the secondary," he said. "I can be a Safety, Nickel, play man-to-man, I can do it all," he added.
