Pleasant Grove HS DT Nick Terry (Elk Grove, CA) verbally committed to Boise State on Saturday…
Nick Terry Hosts Bronco Coaches In Home Visit
"It went really well," he said. "Coach K came straight to my house, met my parents, showed us a highlight tape of the defense on his iPad, and talked about my role with the team. He said sometimes I'll be standing up and on the line at other times. We ate some wings, talked about school, playing time, and just about everything."
"I want to get on the field as soon as possible," he stated. "Coach K expects me to come in and compete right away for playing time. My parents wanted to know about redshirting since they understand that jumping from HS to college is big, but I'm just eager to get on the field and make my family and friends proud."
"Coach K is real down to earth," said Terry. "He's cool, I respect him a lot, and I know we're going to have a lot of fun over the next few years."
He went on to say that the possibility of early playing time is a big motivator as he starts his preparation for Boise State.
"It's definitely motivation," he said. "I'm hitting the gym, getting bigger, and getting stronger. I want to be ready and at the level I need to be in order to compete."
"I'm 100% committed."
D-line Coach Andy Avalos will be in Elk Grove next week for an in-home visit with Terry while Head Coach Chris Petersen will be down in January for an in-home visit.
"Coach Avalos is coming next Wednesday," said Terry. "Coach Petersen will be here in January and I was told he might bring Coach Prince with him as well."
"Coach Avalos is one of my favorite coaches," he said. "On my visit, I was with him the whole time. He was a real comfortable person to be around and he's from the Sacramento area too. That's cool."
