La Puente (Calif.) Bishop Amat athlete Dionza Blue didn't get an offer from Fresno State until this month.
But the Bulldogs made a big impression on him, and after he took an official visit to New Mexico State, his mind was still with Fresno State.
So on Sunday, Blue committed to the Bulldogs.
"I felt it was the best choice for me, it was close to home, and the coaches did a really good job recruiting me," said Blue.
Defensive backs coaches Tim McDonald and Jordan Peterson were the coaches recruiting Blue, and ultimately won him over.
"Fresno State has sent a lot of DBs to the NFL, and Coach Mac (McDonald) and Coach Pete (Peterson) are really good coaches," said Blue. "I know Coach McDonald did a good job coaching his sons (T.J. and Tevin, starting safeties at USC and UCLA respectively)."
Blue will play cornerback for Fresno State, which is where he wanted to play.
"I'm just so blessed and happy with my decision," said Blue. "My family is excited that I'll be close to home and they can come see my games. That was important to me."
Blue will visit Fresno State on January 18th, and the Bulldog coaches will be back in for an in-home next month.
