Chaparral HS TE Jake Roh (Scottsdale, AZ) verbally committed to Boise State almost two weeks ago after narrowing his list down to the Broncos and the Hawkeyes of Iowa. The talented TE says "Boise outdid them all" and the Bronco offense played a major role in his decision to pledge to the Blue and Orange.

"Boise outdid them all," he said. "That's what it really came down to for me," he added.

"I just felt that my visit to Boise was a step ahead of the others," he stated. "I spoke to people I respect, my parents, and got everyone's opinion. In the end, I just felt like my heart was in Boise."

"They're recruiting me as an H-Back," said Roh. "Basically, what that is in their offense is a big WR that can possibly convert to a TE. It's really a receiving TE, but a guy that can also get in there and block if he has to as well."

Iowa recruited Roh to play on the defensive side of the ball. He says the fact that Boise State recruited him to play on offense was a small factor in favor of the Broncos.

"I think that did end up playing a role," he said. "I'm very comfortable on offense. That's why many schools started recruiting me in the first place. They have a great offense and I didn't want to pass an opportunity up like that. It's really a great offense to play in if you like to catch the ball."

"I'm 100% committed."

Roh gave Head Coach Chris Petersen and TEs Coach Scott Huff a call on the day of the bowl game and says his future coaches couldn't have been more excited.

"Oh yeah, they were pumped," he said. "Both said they are really excited to coach me and have me join the team. I'm excited to be a part of the program."

"I thought the offense was great in the bowl game," he said. "They really gave their TEs a good look in that game. They were also very imaginative on offense. That was something I liked to see."

So, what can Bronco fans expect to see from Jake Roh?

"I think my athletic ability is a big part of what I bring to the team," he said. "I can create mismatches on offense," he added.

BroncoCountry.com will continue to have updates on Jake Roh.
