Pleasant Grove HS DT Nick Terry (Elk Grove, CA) signed with Boise State back in February as a member of the 2013 recruiting class and is currently preparing for his arrival on The Blue in June. The talented DT is looking to earn playing time as a true freshman this fall and says the coaching staff is looking for him to come in and compete right away.

"Workouts are going good," he said. "I'm still lifting, conditioning, and Coach K is really stressing the change of direction in conditioning," he added.

"Basically, it's about getting me ready to play," he stated. "Coach K told me I'll be running lateral and side-to-side a lot more and that I need to work on that. It's a good workout for me and has helped keep me in-shape."

"Coach Prince came by the school on Thursday," said Terry. "I got to talk to him for a bit. I think he was down here recruiting, especially since Brandon (Lewis) has committed now as well."

He went on to say that he's excited to play with his HS teammate in Boise and that Bronco fans should be excited too.

"It's always great to play with someone you know," he said. "We've played together since pop warner. He's just an all-around DB. He can run, cover, and do it all."

"Going to Boise State is a great opportunity for me," said Terry. "Everyone knows the blue field, that they have a great team, and everyone around here is excited to see me on TV. I'm hoping I'll be able to step on the field right away and earn playing time."

Terry says the most important thing is showing up in-shape, learning the playbook, and showing the coaching staff what he can do during fall camp.

"I think there's a good possibility that I'll play," he said. "That's what I want, but it's up to me to be ready and show the coaches what I can do during camp. I'm just going to go in there and work as hard as I can."

The future Bronco will arrive in Boise next month and says it's "surreal."

"It's surreal," he said. "It's really crazy that I'm already starting college, but I'm ready to leave," he added.
