Once again, area youth groups will spend the day at Boise State for Kid's Day 2005. It promises to be a fun-filled activity for all!

Nearly 500 youth from area groups will take part in the 2nd annual Kid's Day at Boise State. Kids from the Boys and Girls Clubs of Nampa, Meridian and Ada County, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Hope House and Family Advocate will participate in a fun afternoon on the Boise State campus before attending the Homecoming Game Saturday night between the Broncos and Portland State. The event is organized by the Blue and Orange Club and is made possible through the generous support of our truly great neighbors, State Farm Insurance.

Kid's Day officially begins at 3 p.m. in the grass area north of the Student Union Ballroom. They will be treated to free hot dogs, chips and lemonade. Members of the 2005 WAC Finalist Boise State basketball team will be on hand to shoot hoops with the kids and hand out official Boise State basketball posters. A football toss has been added this year that gives the kids a chance to throw a football through a tire from 15 feet away and win a souvenir football donated by State Farm. (All kids will win a football!) The State Farm mascot, the Good Neigh-Bear, will be on hand. In addition, the Boise State Spirit Squad will appear in full force to teach the kids several cheers, chants and generally add to the fun!

KTVB Channel 7 will come by to film the festivities at 4:30. BroncoCountry's own bsyou, ace photographer as well for the Arbiter, will also be on hand to capture the events at Kid's Day.

After the football game in Bronco Stadium, the kids then will have an opportunity to actually walk out on the famous blue field for an autograph session with members of the Bronco football team. This was a huge hit with the kids last year and something they'll never forget.

Once again, thanks to the great folks at State Farm Insurance for making Kid's Day at Boise State a reality, thanks to the Boise State Spirit Squad for adding excitement to the event, to bsyou and KTVB for their expert work and to the great Bronco football players for making dreams come true for these young people. With the work of so many outstanding people, Kid's Day 2005 is destined to be a smash hit!
