Bonjourno Boise..

Marsing's Shea McClellin

(REPUBLISHED FREE 9/28/06) Shea McClellin has been a busy man this summer. Besides participating in the Idaho High School Football combines, the 6'2 230lb TE/DE prospect just returned from a NW Basketball All-Star tour of Europe. Now, however, the Marsing, ID native is focused on the upcoming football season and recruiting, where there's one team that stands head and shoulders above the rest...

JWP: How is summer going so far?

Shea: Pretty good so far…just working out and stuff…I went the Idaho combine…it went pretty good…I didn't run the time that I wanted to run…but in the agility drills I did better than I thought I would do...better than expected.

JWP: How has that good outing impacted your recruitment?

Shea: Recruiting is going good…Let's see… I'm hearing from Idaho state…Boise state…Idaho…Utah… but the school that I am most interested in is Boise State…I am looking for a winning tradition…

JWP: What are some of your hobbies?

Shea: …Playing sports, reading Sports Illustrated, playing guitar and video games…

I actually just started playing the guitar…you see…I went to Italy a few weeks ago…I just got back yesterday…and I just started over there…one of my friends was doing it…and I said ‘let me try it out'…he taught me one song…and I thought it was pretty cool…so I want to learn more now…

JWP: Why did you go to Italy?

Shea: I went to Italy for a basketball thing…I played with some other guys from the Northwest…actually it was for the MBC tour…we also played in Croatia…We went to five different countries but only played in Italy and Croatia…theothers we just went sightseeing…

The money situation was different…it is not like the US…it's kinda weird…they don't speak English…so it was hard to communicate…

JWP: What is your goal for this upcoming high school season?

Shea: Just to make it to state…we haven't done that for a while..

Shea looks like he could be one of the local recruits to keep an eye out for, so BroncoCountry will keep in touch with Shea this Summer and Fall to see how his recruitment progresses as his senior season unfolds.
