The Western Athletic Conference has been in the running for several years as having the best bowl record of the Division I-A football conferences. It's no wonder. It so happens that WAC teams have the best bowl record of any conference in Division I-A. In piling up that successful record, they've beaten teams from every other I-A conference except the SEC.

Out of all the Division I-A football conferences in the nation, the Western Athletic Conference tops them all when it comes to bowl success. In the history of bowl games, the WAC is #1 in all-time bowl records for its nine conference teams. In 54 games, the WAC is 29-23-2 (.556). The Atlantic Coast Conference is second at .538 followed by the Pac-10 (.519) and the SEC (.517).

In post-season bowl games, WAC teams have beaten teams from the ACC, Big 12, the MAC, the Big East, Conference USA, the Mountain West, the Pac-10, the SEC, the Big 10 and the Sun Belt.
