Colt Brennan will be the best quarterback to play on the Blue this season, and it's not even close. Brennan produced eye-popping numbers in his first season as a starter for Hawai'i last year, and he's already picking up where he left off. Brennan and Hawai'i will take on the Broncos Saturday night.

Hawai’i’s Colt Brennan emerged onto the scene last season, throwing for 4,301 yards, 35 touchdowns and hitting 68% of his passes while ringing up a quarterback rating of over 155.  Brennan nearly generated an upset of Boise State on the islands last season, as only two special teams’ touchdowns for the Broncos prevented that upset.  With a year’s experience, Brennan is now the premier quarterback in the Western Athletic Conference, and he’s only going to get better.

In the season opener, Hawaii’s comeback on the road against #22 Alabama fell short, losing 25-17.  Down a touchdown and a two-point conversion, Coach June Jones’ team drove to the Crimson Tide 26-yard line with 13 seconds left when a pass in the end zone was intercepted.  The Rainbow Warriors returned home and scored a resounding 42-13 thumping of UNLV on the islands last weekend.  Brennan threw for 296 yards and two touchdowns and ran in another in the humiliation of the Mountain West Conference foe.

Brennan is 54-79 for 646 yards and four touchdowns in the two games.  He ranks 2nd in the NCAA in total offense, averaging 348 yards per game and also 2nd with 323 passing yards per game.  Brennan is 6th in the nation in passing with 27 completions per game and 29th in passing efficiency with a 146.2 quarterback rating.  He is tops in the Western Athletic Conference and 7th in the country with his amazing 68.35 passing percentage.

Bronco fans will have a chance to see the amazing #15 when the 6-3 junior from Laguna Beach, California brings the Rainbow Warriors into Bronco Stadium for a 6 P.M. contest against Boise State this Saturday.
