Both the Boise State men’s and women’s team are continuing play this season in
the NCAA National Tennis Tournament.
Boise State’s men’s team will take on #41 Texas A & M-Corpus Christi in the opening round Men’s Tournament. The Broncos earned an automatic invitation
with its third consecutive Western Athletic Conference title this past weekend.

Friday, May 11 at noon in Austin, Texas. The other
first-round matchup has host Texas (#11 in the country) against Navy. The winners of those two matches will play
for a right to go to the Sweet Sixteen.
Boise State is 29-5 this season and ranked 23rd in the
nation in the latest rankings. Coach
Greg Patton’s team is 15-5 against ranked opponents. Corpus Christi is 14-5 and the champions of the Southland
Conference. A & M has won eight of
nine matches with the only blemish during that stretch being a loss to Texas. The Longhorns
enter the NCAA’s with an 18-8 record, while Navy is 15-10.
The
Bronco women, who lost to Fresno State Saturday in the finals of the WAC Tournament, received an
at-large bid to the Women’s Championship.
#44 Boise State will face #24 Indiana Friday, the 11th at 9 a.m. in Evanston, Illinois. Coach Mark Tichenor’s team is 18-4 this year,
including a 6-4 record against ranked opponents. Indiana has a 20-6 record and also
earned an at-large bid after losing in the Big Ten semifinals. The winner of the Bronco-Hoosier match will
play the winner of the #5 Northwestern/Western Michigan match.
