Broncos Cruise to Victory

Boise State went into Thursday night's game with Weber State holding the nations longest win streak at 13. After 2-3 minutes it was obvious that the streak would run to 14.

Boise State used a mix of experienced players and exciting youngsters to outclass the Wildcats from the opening kickoff Thursday evening.

Ian Johnson ran for 129 yards and three touchdowns and Taylor Tharp showed why the coaches are the ones to make the player personnel decisions, and not the fans, as they both led a long list of contributors as the Broncos cruised by Weber State 56-7.

Boise State scored on its first 7 possessions and led 49-0 at the half, and probably should have had at least one more score as they were stopped at about the 1 yard line on a 4th down just before halftime.

Boise State ran it's home winning record to 52 of its last 54 games on the Blue.

The Broncos had several long plays as Tharp hooked up with exciting True Freshman Titus Young on a 53-yard TD pass, and Ian Johnson scored on a 54-yard scamper.

Along with those plays, the Broncos had long runs by Jeremy Avery and Young.
