The Boise State Men's and Women's basketball teams open their season this Friday night with their games being played, back-to-back in the Taco Bell Arena, ticket prices are $2 for both games. The Bronco women host Loyola Marymount with tip-off at 6:00 p.m. and the Bronco men play Utah Valley at 8:15 p.m. This is a great family value for an entertaining evening of basketball. | |||

The night kicks off with the Bronco women. The Women are coming off their WAC championship and NCAA appearance last year. They have eight new players and will be led by Pre-Season Player of the Year selection Jessica Thompson, and All-Conference Preseason 2nd teamer Tasha Harris. They are picked to win the WAC again this year
by both the Media and Coaches, and display an exciting brand of Basketball.
The Men host Utah Valley State 30 minutes after the conclusion of the women's game. The Bronco men have looked good in their two exhibition
games, showcasing their impressive depth and increased size in the middle as
they've dominated the opposition on their way to two wins. Three All Conference selections are returning for the Bronco men, including Matt Nelson and Reggie Larry as New Comers of the Year and Anthony Thomas as Freshman of the Year. This season Larry and Nelson were honored again by the WAC, this time by being named to the Pre-Season All-Conference Teams, with Reggie Larry being named to the All-WAC 1st Team, and Matt Nelson to the 2nd Team.
Several new faces should see significant time this season, along with some familiar names. Returning are fan favorites Matt Bauscher, Tyler Tiedeman, and Kurt Cunningham. Joining them as new Broncos will be an impressive list of youngsters and
transfers, including redshirt freshmen Paul Noonan, Shawn Rouse and Zack Mortiz along with Junior College Transfers Aaron Garner, Jamar Greene and Mark Sanchez, although Sanchez may end up redshirting this season. New Bronco
and former Wyoming Cowboy Ike Okoye will have to sit out the season per NCAA
transfer rules, but will bring added size and experience to the Bronco
practices.
