Bronco Swim Team Loses Two In California

The Boise State swimming and diving team, competing in its second year, was soundly defeated by both San Diego and San Diego State today.

The Boise State swimming and diving team fell to San Diego today 177-123 and to San Diego State 184-116 to wrap up their California road tirp. “We definitely were faster than the previous weekend in Irvine and we had some swims that I consider to be breakthrough swims at this phase in our season,” said head coach Kristin Hill. “Katelyn LoFland had season best times in both the 1000 and 500 freestyle and won both events against both San Diego State (SDSU) and the University of San Diego. Tara Hahto won both the 100 breast and 400 IM against both SDSU and USD and was first in the 100 breast against USD and 2nd against SDSU. Her times were stronger than this past weekend and were good in season times considering the tough training and multiple competitions we put in this past week." Alison Hall captured the 200 butterfly vs. San Diego State and was second to teammate Tara Hahto in the 400 individual medley. Jenny Nowatzke won the 50-meter freestyle as well. LoFland was third in the 1000 freestyle. The Broncos travel to take on Nevada Saturday.
