Bronco basketball greats Reggie Larry and Tasha Harris were rewarded for their stellar play last week by being named the WAC men's and women's basketball Players of the Week.

Boise State swept the weekly Western Athletic Conference basketball awards this week, as the league voted senior forward Reggie Larry and junior guard Tasha Harris as the men’s and women’s players of the week.

This is the third weekly honor for Larry.  He poured in a career-high 27 points and had 16 rebounds and three steals to lead Boise State to a 90-89 overtime win over Fresno State.  Larry followed that up with 21 points, nine rebounds and a career-high five assists to help the Broncos top Idaho 78-64.

Harris helped the Lady Broncos to a 3-0 record last week.  She had a team-high 24 points on 11-of-15 shooting (73.3%) in Boise State’s 82-62 win over league-leading Fresno State, going over 1,000 career points in the process.  Harris is the 14th Bronco to achieve the 1,000-point mark.  She then shot 71 percent (5-7) in Boise State’s 78-51 win at San Jose State, contributing 13 points, six rebounds and five assists.  Tasha finished the week with a career-tying 10-10 from the free-throw line and a career-high seven steals in the Broncos’ 65-60 win over Idaho.

The other nominations for the men’s award were senior guard Kevin Bell, Fresno State; senior guard Matt Gibson, Hawai‘i; senior center Hatila Passos, New Mexico State and junior forward Gary Wilkinson, Utah State.

Other women’s nominees included:  Fresno State freshman guard Jaleesa Ross averaged 13.5 points while shooting 58.8 percent from the field ... Louisiana Tech senior forward JoKeirra Sneed tied a career high with 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a win over Hawai‘i ... New Mexico State freshman Anikia Jawara averaged 15.5 points in a pair of Aggie wins last week.
