It could be called the "Triple Crown" of college athletics. The accomplishment of winning 10 regular-season football games, 20 regular-season men's basketball games and 20 regular-season women's basketball games is so rare that only 19 schools have achieved it since 1980. This is what Boise State has in their sights this year.

Boise State has an opportunity this spring to make more history and accomplish something very few schools ever do.  With one more win by the men’s basketball team and two more by the women’s team, the Broncos will gain passage into the “10-20-20 Club”, which features membership so exclusive that only 19 schools have qualified since 1980.

The 10-20-20 Club requires 10 regular-season football wins and 20 regular-season basketball wins by both the men’s and the women’s team in the same school year.  All of this must be accomplished before any conference championships, football bowl games or national tournaments.  .  Boise State’s football team engineered a 10-2 mark during the regular season last fall.  The Bronco men’s basketball team is currently 19-6 and has a minimum of six games remaining to get their 20th regular-season win.  The Lady Bronco basketball team, meanwhile, is right behind them with a sparkling record of 18-6.  The Boise State women’s team has a minimum of five games remaining in which to record two needed victories.

The 10-10-20 Club has been achieved just 26 times since 1980, or an average of once per year.  Texas and Oklahoma have met all of the requirements three times and Arkansas, North Carolina and BYU twice.  The other 14 schools in this exclusive club are:  Tennessee, UNLV, Louisville, Florida, Washington, Iowa, Syracuse, Notre Dame, LSU, Toledo, Colorado State, Utah, Ohio State and West Virginia.  A complete list follows this article.

Both the Boise State men’s team, coached by Greg Graham, and the women’s squad headed by Gordy Presnell, are fighting hard to win respective conference championships.  The 10-20-20 Club will be one more feather in their cap, and something else to follow down the stretch.
