The red-hot winter continues for Boise State. Yesterday, the #21 Bronco
gymnastics team posted the sixth-highest team score in school history,
defeating Cal State-Fullerton 196-425-194.825.
Boise State was especially magical on the vault with a 49.20 out of a possible score
of 50, their second-highest vault score ever.
And they did it on the road.
Coach Tina Bird and Neil Resnick’s
team was solid on all four apparatuses, winning all four events. Boise State scored 49.075 on the bars, 49.10 on the floor exercises and 49.05 on the
beam to finish with one of their most consistent efforts in years. Freshman Amy Glass earned two individual wins
in the beam and all-around. Glass scored
a career high of 9.875 on the beam and posted another career mark in tying for
#22 in the Bronco record books with her 39.350 overall score. Fellow freshman Hannah Redmon tied her career best of 9.90
in winning the vault and finished third in the all-around with a 38.775 while
sophomore Taylor Jacob captured the bars title, also with a 9.90 score.
Juniors Amber Neroes
and Shaniece Craft and Glass were part of a four-way tie for second on the
vault with 9.85 scores. Redmon and Glass
were tied for second on the bars with a 9.85.
Senior Lindsay Ward continued her impressive comeback with a
second-place finish on the beam (9.85) while freshman Sarah Smith scored 9.825
in the event to tie for third. Redmon
also placed second on the floor with a 9.875 and freshman Kelsey Lang’s 9.850
was good enough to tie for third.
Boise State returns home for a meet this
Friday against Sacramento State in Taco Bell Arena. Come out and see this exciting team!
