Boise State CB Kyle Wilson

Boise State juniors Kyle Wilson (CB) and Jeremy Childs (WR) both submitted their names to the NFL Draft Advisory Board and when the results arrived, came to very different decisions about their futures..
Kyle Wilson
from Piscataway New Jersey and
Jeremy Childs
from Los Alamitos California both joined the Broncos in Fall 2004 and redshirted together.
They then both earned playing time as Freshmen, with Wilson earning a starting spot half way through the 2006 season, including starting the Fiesta Bowl for the Broncos. Childs played less as a Freshman, playing behind 3 Seniors who would all get time in NFL Camps, including one who is still in the NFL,
(
Legedu Naanee
)
, but Childs went on to set a school record for receptions in a season as a Sophomore, quickly becoming QB Taylor Tharp's go-to guy.
After submitting their names to the NFL Draft Advisory Board, Wilson was rated a 3rd round pick, Childs a 6th round pick.. but it was Childs who decided to skip his final year of eligiblity despite that prediction.
This marks the second year that
Boise State
has lost a player early to the NFL Draft, last year losing CB
Orlando Scandrick
(Child's cousin and HS teammate)
, and OT
Ryan Clady
. Both played extensively for their respective teams, with Clady being 3rd in the All-Rookie voting, the highest ranking for any of the rookie Linemen on either side of the ball.
While Bronco fans are estatic to have Kyle Wilson for one more season, they are equally excited to watch Jeremy Childs pursue his NFL dreams and wish him the very best as he moves on.
