Ian Johnson rushed for 51 yards in his NFL debut tonight with the Minnesota Vikings, helping the Vikings to a 13-3 win over Indianapolis.

Former Bronco star Ian Johnson had a sizzling debut in his first National Football League game with the Minnesota Vikings. Johnson and the Vikings opened the preseason with a 13-3 victory at Indianapolis.

Johnson had nine carries for 51 yards and one catch for nine yards. He was the second-leading rusher for Minnesota, second in average yards-per-carry with 5.6 and had the longest running play for the Vikings (16 yards).

Johnson rushed for 4,083 yards, second in Boise State history to Cedric Minter, and caught 59 passes for 617 yards. Johnson, a 2006 All-American who led Boise State to a 43-42 win over Oklahoma in the 2007 Fiesta Bowl, broke Marshall Faulk’s Western Athletic Conference record by rushing for 58 touchdowns in his Boise State career.

IJ and Minnesota hosts the Kansas City Chiefs next Friday.
