Consistency is one of the hallmarks of college football success. A "flash in the pan" usually doesn't get much respect. It is therefore a grand achievement indeed for Boise State to be included in a group of 11 teams that have been ranked in the national Top 25 in each of the last eight seasons.

Boise State is one of 11 college football teams to be ranked in the Top 25 of the USA Today Coaches’ Poll in each year since 2002.  For eight straight seasons, the Broncos have made the list.

Boise State joins Oklahoma , Florida , Texas , USC, Ohio State , Georgia , Oregon , LSU, Wisconsin and Virginia Tech in the distinct group.  Auburn , Michigan , West Virginia and Arizona State have all found their way into the nation’s Top 25 in seven of the eight years.

The Broncos reached their highest rank of #12 in the postseason poll of 2002.  They reached #15 in the final poll of 2003.  Boise State peaked at #10 on November 21 and 28th and on December 5th in 2004.  Whereas they peaked in each of the three previous years, Boise State received its highest ranking of 2005 in the preseason poll where they were ranked #19.  They hit what then was a school record of #6 in the postseason poll of 2006 and a high of #17 on November 11th and the 18th of 2007.  Last season, Boise State reached #9 in November 2 and they remained stuck on #9 for six consecutive weeks despite winning every game and finishing the regular season unbeaten.

Fresno State and Hawai’i with three appearances each are the other Western Athletic Conference schools that have made the top 25 since 2002.

Here is the list of schools that have been ranked at some point in the last eight years:
