Boise State’s
volleyball team continued its home winning streak as the Lady Broncos came back
to beat Louisiana Tech 3-1 in Bronco Gym last night.
The Broncos spotted the
Bulldogs a 25-22 first set win, then stormed back to take the next three 25-21,
25-22 and 25-22 to secure their fourth win in their last five Western Athletic
Conference matches.
The Lady Techsters
fought bravely in the fourth set that saw five ties and two lead changes but
with the score 22-22, Boise State put the match away and sent the fans home
happy.
Junior Sadie Maughan led
the Broncos with 16 kills and six blocks. Sophomore
Elizabeth Griffin had a hitting percentage of .381 on ten kills and junior
Alisha Young was credited with 13 kills. Defensively,
sophomore Amanda Remy and senior Jeanene Rose each had 17 digs while sophomore
Breann Nesselhuf contributed 13 and led the team with 52 assists.
Kara Jones and Kassia
Pinto led the Lady Bulldogs with 13 kills each and Pinto also had a .379 hitting
percentage and 14 digs. K.C. Clayton
had six blocks at the net to stymie the Broncos and Nataliya Panova led
Louisiana Tech with 15 digs.
Boise
State
is now 5-18 and 5-6 in the
WAC while Tech falls to 14-14 and 4-8.
The Broncos travel to New Mexico State Thursday night and then face Louisiana
Tech again next Saturday in Ruston.
