Idaho scored a late touchdown, but Boise State was still able to beat the
Vandals 63-25 Saturday afternoon in Boise. Boise State's win, coupled with
a USC loss over the weekend, enabled the Broncos to edge out in front of the
Trojans for the most wins in the last eight years.
Boise State is 90-11 since 2002 while USC slips to 89-12. Texas (87-13
this decade) is approaching their school record of 88 wins set last
season. Oklahoma won 90 games from 2000-2007 and is in fourth place
all-time. Nebraska holds the modern record with 91 wins from
1993-2000. Boise State can tie those famous Nebraska teams with a win
Friday night against Utah State. They won't catch the top two, however.
Yale (106 wins from 1888-1895) and Pennsylvania (105 victories from
1891-1898) both played 15 and 16 games regularly during that period.
The teams are shown with their most number of wins in any period that
overlapped. No team can be listed for any years that overlap.
Here is the updated list of teams that have won 80 or more games in an eight-year period:
