Central HS QB Grant Hedrick (Independence, OR) became the second Boise State verbal commitment back during the summer and now he's ready to sign on the dotted line on Wednesday. A Bronco coach just recently made the trip over to Independence to visit Grant and talk with him about his future as a Bronco. "Coach Harsin came by on Wednesday," he said. "He came for a basketball game and then came over to the house for a little while," he added.

Offensive Coordinator Bryan Harsin is eager to get Hedrick in the Boise State system due to Grant's playmaking ability in both the passing and running game. "Coach Harsin wants me to start on the playbook as soon as I can," he stated. "I'm looking forward to it and excited to get a jumpstart on it. He sees me as a dual-threat and there will be more running in the system when I play."

The Boise State coaches always try to get each new class to make the trip up for spring practice so they can get an idea of what to expect when they arrive on campus. "Coach Harsin talked about coming over for spring practice for a couple days and sitting in on the meetings," Hedrick said. "I'm going to try to go."

Bryan Harsin made a strong impression on both Grant and his parents. "I've gotten to know Coach Harsin real well and I like how professional he is. He carries himself well," he said. "He was a big hit at the basketball game. Everyone was focused on him."

Signing Day is now right on the horizon and Grant has been looking forward to this day for a while. "It's going to be cool to make it official on Wednesday," he said. "It's a big accomplishment even though I've been committed for a while."

Grant (6'1, 185, 4.56) and his teammates at Central are currently putting together an unbelievable basketball season. The Panthers are 18-1 and hoping to make another run at the state championship. "We lost in the state championship last year and we returned quite a few starters," he said. "We lost our first game a couple weeks ago and then we beat that same team when Coach Harsin was here by thirty-one. I think we're a better team than last year," Hedrick added.

The future Bronco will begin a strong workout routine starting next week. "I'm lifting every day and basketball is my conditioning right now," he said. "My schedule opens up starting next week. I'm going to go up to Nike and workout with Chris Angel and Matt James. That'll really help with my speed and agility."

BroncoCountry.com will continue to have updates on Grant Hedrick.
