Punahou School ATH Jeremy Ioane (Honolulu, HI) made Bronco fans very happy on Signing Day as he chose to sign with Boise State and take his talent to The Blue. This recruiting battle was tough as Boise State battled Washington and Notre Dame, but Ioane's comfort level with the Bronco coaches put the Blue and Orange over the top. Scout.com spoke to Ioane and got his thoughts on his commitment.
Punahou School ATH Jeremy Ioane (Honolulu, HI) made Bronco fans very happy on Signing Day as he chose to sign with %%MATCH_2%% and take his talent to The Blue. This recruiting battle was tough as Boise State battled %%MATCH_4%% and %%MATCH_3%%, but Ioane's comfort level with the Bronco coaches put the Blue and Orange over the top. "I had a better feeling from them," he said in reference to Boise State. "I felt more comfortable with the coaches that I got to know and I kind of like the blue turf," he added.
Ioane (5'10, 175, 4.54) took a total of three official visits as he visited Boise State, Washington, and Notre Dame. Jeremy and Head Coach
Chris Petersen
discussed exactly what type of school that he wanted to attend while he was in Boise for his visit. "Me and Coach Petersen talked about school and what I look for in a football team," he said. "I pretty much told him family oriented, good chemistry, and a team that's close together. He told me that's what they are."
Chris Petersen had an in-home visit with Jeremy leading up to his official visit at Notre Dame and Ioane was excited about having the Broncos head man in his home. "It's exciting," he said. "Coach Petersen cares about you as more than just a football player. He's always looking out for you."
In the end, it was still a tough decision for the newest Bronco because he also enjoyed his visits to Washington and Notre Dame. "I kind of struggled with it," Ioane said. "It's hard to pass up Notre Dame and it was just complicated talking to my parents about everything."
BroncoCountry.com will continue to have updates on Jeremy Ioane.
