Douglas Is Eager To Begin Bronco Career

Nathaniel Narbonne HS CB Bryan Douglas (Harbor City, CA) signed with Boise State just over a month ago and he's already looking forward to his summer arrival in Boise. The future Bronco is currently running track and working to improve his agility as he hopes to come in and compete right away. He spoke to BroncoCountry.com about his offseason workouts and his future as a Bronco.

Nathaniel Narbonne HS CB Bryan Douglas (Harbor City, CA) signed with Boise State just over a month ago and he's already looking forward to his summer arrival in Boise. "I'm definitely excited," he said. "I can't wait to get up there," he added.

Currently, Douglas (5'10, 170, 4.4) is running track and hoping to improve his speed through agility drills as he hopes to come in and compete right away at the CB position. "I'm doing track right now," he said. "I got a speed coach I workout with every day after track practice. He's got me working on footwork, running up hills, and pulling sleds. It's really helping."

The relationship that Bryan has with (DBs Coach) Marcel Yates will help make the transition from Harbor City to Boise that much easier. "Man, it's going to be like playing for my dad," Douglas said. "Me and Coach Yates have such a close bond. I talk to him like he's my dad and have ever since day one."

Plans are already being made for a trip to Boise this spring. "Me and Coach Yates talked about me getting up there on my spring break to maybe watch the spring game," he stated. "He told me he would sit down with me one-on-one and talk about the defensive schemes."

Douglas plans on being a student of the game right from the start. "I want to watch the speed of the game when I go up for the spring game," he said. "Coach Yates told me he's going to throw me right in. I want to watch how they communicate and play as a team. I want to be right at that level when I play," he added.

Bryan plans on reporting to Boise in July. "Coach Yates told me right after the 4th of July is the best time to come," he said. "He told me to get out of school, settle down, and that's when I should come. It's going to be great."

BroncoCountry.com will continue to have updates on Bryan Douglas.
