A Change In Plans For Sosnowski
Capital HS ATH Kyle Sosnowski (Boise, ID) signed with Boise State in February as a member of the 2010 recruiting class. The original plan was for him to grayshirt and join the team in January. That plan slowly started to change over the past couple months and now it appears that he will indeed join the team this fall rather than grayshirt. "Coach Harsin called me last week to let me know that it looks like I'll be coming in the fall," he said. "He told me he's about 95% sure of it. They were trying to get another guy from a JC at center and it looks like that fell through," he added. This news was exciting for Sosnowski (6'3, 210) and he's already spending more time in the weight room in preparation for his arrival on campus. "I was excited," he stated. "I have been hitting the weight room a little harder since I talked to him. I've been doing track so I hadn't been in there as much. I'm hitting the weights harder now." The highly-anticipated 2010 season will kickoff with the Broncos traveling across the country to battle the Hokies at FedEx Field in perhaps the top non-conference game of the season. That game instantly took on a greater importance for Kyle once he got the news. "I thought of Virginia Tech as soon as he told me I was coming in this fall," Sosnowski said. "It'll be insane to experience that as a freshman. It's going to be a dream come true right from the start." The future Bronco made the short drive across town to attend a few spring practices and was also in attendance at the annual spring game at Bronco Stadium. "I went over for a couple spring practices," he said. "The defense looked really good, strong, and fast. I got to speak to Coach Petersen for a few minutes at one of the practices. He's just a great individual and you can tell when talking to him on the field. He's always asking about my family and how school is going." The team workouts begin in June and Kyle is looking forward to the challenges ahead as he begins his college career. "Workouts start in June and I just got the lifting packet," he said. "It's definitely exciting and a little stressful since you're trying to learn a new system and graduate HS. I'm going to hit the weights even harder after track," he added. BroncoCountry.com will continue to have updates on Kyle Sosnowski.
