Boise State’s
men’s basketball team jumped to a 20-point lead early in the first half, then
played even with Louisiana Tech the rest of the way to post an 81-66 win
tonight in Taco Bell Arena. The Bronco
front court of Reggie Larry (25 points on 10-14 shooting, 15 rebounds and three
blocked shots) , Matt Nelson (22 points on 8-11 shooting and Tyler Tiedeman (15
points including 4-6 from three-point territory) burned the outmatched Bulldogs
time and again to lead the win.
Coach Greg Graham’s team, which entered the contest second
in the nation in field goal percentage, converted on 50.9 percent of their
shots tonight and controlled the boards 39-25.
Boise State’s
must-win at home moved the Broncos to 3-1 in Western Athletic Conference play
and 12-4 on the season.
Drew Washington led Tech with 20 points while Kyle Gibson
had 18 points and seven rebounds.
Tech slipped to 3-12 and 0-3 in WAC play.
